Kaspersky Thin Client
on the menu at our Malaysian business breakfast

Kaspersky and Aswant Solution gathered representatives from Malaysia's business and public sector at event in Kuala Lumpur

As part of its strategy to expand its presence in Southeast Asia, Kaspersky has signed an agreement with Aswant Solution to become a distributor of the Kaspersky Thin Client solution in Malaysia and Indonesia. To launch thin client sales and educate market participants, the companies jointly hosted a business breakfast with regional partners and potential customers of the solution.

The event was attended by more than 70 guests representing large and medium-sized enterprises and the public sector. Among them were representatives from CyberSecurity Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE), Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia, telecommunications company FGV Prodata Systems, our technology partner TSplus and many others.

The business breakfast was opened by Solahuddin Shamsuddin, CTO of the state cybersecurity agency CyberSecurity Malaysia. In the plenary session – ‘Hybridity in the digital age: Home office, collaborative robots, chatbots… Are our employees ready?’ – the participants discussed the challenges and modern approaches to organizing employee workplaces. The session was moderated by Andrey Suvorov, Head of Business Development for KasperskyOS-based solutions. The following participants took part in the discussion:

  • Dayana Safian, Senior Manager, MDEC
  • Allen Lin, International Sales Director, Centerm
  • James Lai, Chairman, MyIoTA
  • Lee Hwee, Head of Cybersecurity Professional Development, CyberSecurity Malaysia
  • Reto Gruenenfelder, Independent Technology Advisor to Strategy Boards
  • Wan Norhamsa Saad, Technical Director, Aswant Solution

Andrey Suvorov continued the event with the report ‘Cyber Immunity as part of a digital strategy’, in which he talked about a new approach to cybersecurity. The subject of implementing our innovative approach in practice was highlighted by Product Manager Mikhail Levinsky and Business Development Manager Fyodor Maximov. In their presentation ‘A thin client with innate Cyber Immunity’ they outlined all the advantages of Kaspersky Thin Client.

The guests of the business breakfast had the opportunity to get an even closer look at Cyber Immune thin clients during a demonstration by Alexander Sergeenko, Pre-Sales Support Engineer. He not only demonstrated the functionality of the thin clients on real devices, but also organized a game in the style of ‘Name That Tune’. The game showcased the sound capabilities of Kaspersky Thin Client 2.0. The audience gladly took part in the quiz and were rewarded with prizes. The employees of Kaspersky Malaysia provided invaluable assistance in organizing the game, for which we are very grateful to them!

In Asia, the bigger the prize, the better!

After a business breakfast, our specialists did not return to Moscow immediately, but instead helped our partner with their first negotiations. Meetings were held with the Ministry of Education, the Royal Malaysian Police and representatives of Kuala Lumpur City Hall. Pilot projects have already been launched in three of the country’s major universities (University of Sultan Zainal Abidin, Mara University of Technology, University of Malaysia Perlis) and in two municipalities (Municipal Council of Klang, Municipal Council of Kangar). In addition, the partner is actively negotiating the launch of pilot projects at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and with the Malaysian Ministry of Education.

The business breakfast event provided a strong impetus for our thin client drive in Southeast Asia. This can be seen in the results of Aswant Solution, which has already commenced sales activities for our product in Indonesia.
