Introducing KasperskyOS Community Edition SDK 1.4

Meet the new release of KasperskyOS Community Edition SDK 1.4 — an update you will actually want to put to the test. Here are the key highlights.

1. The distribution now comes in three versions — choose the one that fits your task and hardware

  • For emulation in QEMU
  • For Raspberry Pi 4 Model B
  • For Radxa ROCK 3A

2. More drivers, better support

We have added a large number of drivers for supported hardware platforms. You can also now connect USB cameras, USB modems, and SSDs.

3. Experimental features

We have added a Toybox-based terminal implementation designed to make interaction with the system much more convenient.

A new component is also available: Kaspersky Control Flow Monitor (KCFM). It helps monitor correct process execution by controlling the flow of control.

4. Debugging and development tools

We have added DumpCollector, a component that generates a dump when a process terminates unexpectedly. We have also improved the VS Code extension to make working with KasperskyOS-based solutions more convenient.

5. New functionality and demo examples

You asked — we added it. You can now explore sample code for working with:

  • New driver
  • Graphical user interfaces
  • KPA packages
  • Solution crash dump generation mechanisms
  • Toybox and KCFM components

This is not the full list of examples included in the SDK. We also publish additional open source demos on GitHub, so make sure to follow the updates.
