Industrial IoT gateway Kaspersky IoT Secure Gateway 100 (ex. IKS 1000GP) from Adaptive Production Technology (APROTECH), running on KasperskyOS, has been named winner of the 2020 World Leading Internet Scientific and Technology Achievements award. The award was announced at the 7th World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, China.
Independent experts from various countries ranked the gateway among the top 15 innovations of 2020 in the internet sphere (along with solutions from companies such as Microsoft, Huawei, Alibaba, etc.). Three hundred solutions from all over the world competed for the title.
Reacting to the award, Andrey Suvorov, CEO of APROTECH, commented: “Having our first industrial IoT gateway, developed jointly with Kaspersky, recognized as the best innovation project of the year is a great honor. The attention given to Kaspersky IoT Secure Gateway 100 demonstrates that the digitalization of production processes needs to be secure and the increased efficiency must not lead to new risks.”
The gateway is designed to securely collect, convert and transfer industrial data from the “field” level (drives, pumps, machines, robots, etc.) to the IIoT platform level (Siemens MindSphere). The gateway does not permit the modification of transmitted information and, compared to existing security solutions, minimizes the possibility of external access to data.
“If you can’t trust the data from the production site, the risks from these digitalization scenarios can be bigger than the benefits,” says Andrey Suvorov.
Sales of the industrial Kaspersky IoT Secure Gateway 100 are scheduled to start in early 2021. It is already being piloted at enterprises in various industrial sectors.
